As beautiful as other places in Gros Morne are, it is the fascinating Tablelands that got Gros Morne on the UNESCO World Heritage Site list. The Tablelands look like nothing else in Newfoundland.  You think you have been suddenly transported to Arizona.  The geologists say we are looking at peridotite rocks from the earth's mantle, pushed there during collisions of the earth's plates.
